GIAGO is an innovative snack company based in NSW, set to make a significant impact in the Australian and international snack markets.
Background
GIAGO is an innovative snack company based in NSW, focused on creating a unique lentil-based snack with a playful twist—each snack includes a joke insert designed for sharing online via a QR code. Their vision combines tasty, healthy snacking with engaging, shareable content, positioning GIAGO as a fun and modern brand in the snack food industry.
Challenge
GIAGO faced significant technical hurdles, particularly in automating the placement of the paper joke insert onto uncooked dough, a crucial step for quality and scalability. Additionally, the company sought advice on establishing a manufacturing presence in Australia, including setting up premises and sourcing appropriate technology, to meet increasing demand and expand their market reach.
Approach
The AMC Network began with a comprehensive Technical Review to understand GIAGO’s manufacturing process, identify bottlenecks, and explore automation opportunities. This high-level assessment provided strategic guidance on automation systems, investment options, and business development pathways.
Building on this, a half-day in-person co-design workshop was held, bringing together GIAGO’s co-founder, AMCN technical specialists, and business advisors. During this session, in-depth discussions focused on streamlining the insert application process, evaluating robotic and automation solutions, and planning the setup of dedicated manufacturing facilities in Queensland.
Outcome
GIAGO’s innovative approach, supported by strategic automation and facility development, positions them to scale effectively and make a significant impact in the Australian and international snack markets.
